Do REALTORS® Need Separate Fair Housing Training?

If you belong to a local REALTOR® association, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires Fair Housing training as a condition of maintaining your REALTOR® membership. If you are not a REALTOR®, this NAR membership requirement does not apply to you, although Wisconsin continuing education requirements still do.

Beginning January 1, 2025, REALTORS® must complete at least two hours of Fair Housing training during each three-year training cycle to maintain their NAR membership. Failure to complete the required training may result in suspension of REALTOR® membership until the requirement has been satisfied.

The good news is that Laurel Stone School of Real Estate has already included the required NAR Fair Housing training in two of our Wisconsin-approved continuing education courses. You do not need to take a separate Fair Housing class.

The required Fair Housing training is included in:

  • Mandatory Hour #9 – Fair Housing I for Wisconsin Licensees – State Law
  • Mandatory Hour #10 – Fair Housing II for Wisconsin Licensees – Federal Law

After completing these courses, REALTORS® must submit their completion certificates to their local REALTOR® association for membership records.
