Congratulations! If you’ve completed your Wisconsin broker pre-license course, passed the state broker licensing exam, and met Wisconsin’s experience requirements, you’re ready for the final step—applying for your Wisconsin real estate broker license.
The application process is completed online through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
Step 1 – Create Your DSPS Account
If you haven’t already, create your online DSPS account. You can do this before or after taking the state exam, so much of the setup is already complete when you’re ready to apply.
Step 2 – Complete Your Online Application
Once you’ve passed the broker licensing exam and met the education and experience requirements, log into your DSPS account and complete the online broker license application.
Apply for your Wisconsin real estate license through the DSPS.
Step 3 – Submit Your Required Information
Your application will include your course completion and licensing exam information, along with documentation showing that you have met Wisconsin’s broker experience requirements.
Your qualifying experience must be documented and ultimately verified by your supervising broker as part of your broker license application.
If everything has been completed successfully, DSPS can process your application.
Step 4 – Receive Your Wisconsin Real Estate Broker License
Once DSPS has reviewed your application and determined that you have satisfied the requirements, your Wisconsin real estate broker license can be issued.
If DSPS needs additional information or documentation, they may contact you before your application can be completed.
Completing the broker course is an important part of the process, but you don’t have to figure out the entire path on your own. When you take the broker course with me, we can look at where you are in the process, your experience, and what you still need to complete.
