How Long Does It Take to Get a Wisconsin Real Estate Salesperson License?

If you’re thinking about becoming a Wisconsin real estate salesperson, one of your first questions is probably, “How long will it take to get my Wisconsin real estate salesperson license?”

The answer depends much more on your schedule than on the course itself.

When you enroll with Laurel Stone School of Real Estate, one of the first things we’ll talk about is your schedule, your goals, and when it makes sense to take the Wisconsin real estate licensing exam. Every student’s situation is different, so we’ll build a timeline that works for you.

If You Can Study Full-Time
Students who have all day to devote to the course often finish in 7–10 days. If exam appointments are available, many are ready to take the Wisconsin real estate licensing exam within two weeks of enrolling.

If You Work Full-Time
Students with a full-time job often finish the course in about three weeks. I usually recommend setting up your Pearson VUE account and, whenever possible, scheduling your state exam shortly after enrollment so you have a goal to work toward. If your work schedule makes that difficult, we can always adjust the timing.

If You Have Work and Family Commitments
If you’re balancing work, family, or other responsibilities, a month is often a more comfortable pace. Some students move faster, while others prefer to take a little more time. We’ll choose a schedule that fits your life.

After You Pass the State Exam
Once you’ve passed the exam, the next step is applying for your Wisconsin real estate license. The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) generally processes complete applications fairly quickly, although processing times can vary.

Ready to apply for your Wisconsin real estate license?
Once you’ve passed the exam, you can begin the application process directly through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). If you want, you can even create your DSPS account before you pass the exam. Then, when you’re ready, much of the setup is already done.

Working With Your Real Estate Firm
Many of my students already have a real estate firm in mind before they pass the exam. Others decide after passing. Either way, once you’ve chosen a firm, they’ll help you complete the final licensing paperwork and get you started in your new career.

Your firm will train you to work with buyers and sellers, write offers, market yourself, and build your business. That’s the difference between earning your Wisconsin real estate license and learning how to become a successful real estate professional.

Small School. Personal Support.
One of the advantages of working with a smaller school is that I get to know my students. I’ll help you decide when to schedule your exam, answer questions as you move through the course, and help you navigate the licensing process from beginning to end.

Whether your goal is to finish in two weeks or to work at a pace that fits your busy schedule, we’ll build a plan that works for you.

I’ll personally help you through the entire process—from your first chapter to scheduling your state exam and applying for your Wisconsin real estate license.
